Merry Christmas from Rockefeller Plaza!! There is no where more beautiful at Christmastime than New York City.
And the iconic Rockefeller Christmas tree is New York City at its Christmas best.
Hundreds of thousands of visitors flock each year to this part of mid-town Manhattan to see the spectacular holiday sights.
There is ice skating in the rink. As well as many restaurants in the plaza area both upstairs and downstairs.
Radio City Music Hall is only a short walk away. And there is all the Christmas decorations along 6th avenue, just one block away.
Just across the street from Rockefeller Plaza is St. Patrick's Cathedral. It's a great place to go after seeing all the sights in Rockefeller Plaza. You can hear singing and see the wonderful sights inside the cathedral. It's also a great place to go just to warm up after being out in the weather enjoying all the sights.
There are all the sights along 5th avenue, which includes all the department store windows. The department store windows are all dressed up for the holidays and are a sight themselves. They are truly works of art in their own right.
, Andy Warhol decorated windows for department stores before he became famous for his pop art. It's in following with the trend that Warhol established that the department store windows in New York City are really works of art rather than just displays.
Macy's, Barney's, Lord & Taylor's, Sak's Fifth Avenue, are just some of the department stores that go all out at Christmas time with their incredible window displays.
So if you come to New York City for Christmas, don't forget to go by the department stores and see their storefront windows. Most of the ones that I just mentioned above are within walking distance of Rockefeller Plaza. So you could just talk a short walk around the city and see the sights. The others are a short train ride away.
So Merry Christmas from Rockefeller Plaza!!!! And have an incredible New Year.
